UFO in Yuma, AZ

It was late at night around 10 pm and we are driving from Phoenix, Arizona back to San Diego, CA where we lived. My sister was driving 23 at the time and I was 18. Were both a little tired and at that moment just sitting in silence as we stared ahead at the long stretch of desert. It was a Two lane highway and with desert all around us and no one ahead or behind us that we could see. This is where it gets weird and why no one believes us when we tell them that it happened to us.
A strange aircraft swoops down from the sky and hovers in front of our car. I never saw it coming it kind of just appeared there or like I saw it just before it stopped in front of us. It looked like nothing I have ever seen before. It looked like a military like tank with no cannon on top.but very boxy almost like it was made out of legos. it was a very dark green almost black color. now mind you we were cruising at 75 or 80 mph and the thing sits in front of us like we were at a dead stop. it doesn't rock back and forth it doesn't adjust its speed to match ours it just matches our exact speed instantly while hovering 5 feet off the ground inches away from the hood of our car.
As this happened we both just sit there staring at it almost like we were looking through the aircraft. I couldn't move or at least I know I didn't move. at all. almost like I wasn't fully there anymore, like I was experiencing it like I was watching a movie. no emotion went through me no thoughts I was just there.
It flew in front of us for a couple of second and then this compartment opens up in front of the thing and 5 huge lights appear. like trucker lights on top of an 18 wheeler. They flash us so bright that it was all I saw. It was like they took a picture of us or scanned us, we came up with a number of possibilities as to why it happened. then the compartment closed and the aircraft flew to the side of the road by a billboard or traffic sign and it seemed to have gone invisible.
by the time the craft moved, me and my sister snapped out of it and looked at each other at the same time and oddly asked "did you just see that?" we described what we both saw to each other and they both matched up.. It was unbelievable.
I thought I saw it again over the freeway I was on last year but it could just be paranoia.
